LINDBERG: The Danish Eyewear Brand Built Without Screws

At Look Eyecare we carry LINDBERG, a Danish eyewear brand known for one thing above all: frames so light you forget you're wearing them. Every LINDBERG frame is built without screws, using a spring hinge system the brand invented and still owns decades later.

LINDBERG started in 1969, when optometrist Poul-Jørn Lindberg opened an optical store in Aarhus, Denmark. In 1986 he and his son Henrik, an architect, patented the screwless titanium hinge that became the brand's signature. Every collection since has built on that same idea: strip away anything that adds weight or bulk without adding function.

Here's a look at six of the LINDBERG collections we carry, and what makes each one different.

Air Titanium Rim

This is the original LINDBERG look: a thin titanium wire frame with the brand's iconic spiral hinge. It comes in a silk matte or polished finish, and you can mix colors across the front, temples, and temple covers to make a pair your own. Lightweight, adjustable, and built to hold its shape.

Strip titanium

Strip titanium takes a bolder approach: a full metal front laser-cut from titanium strips, with a streamlined, architectural look. Some styles pair the titanium with an acetate upper bar for a retro touch. Every piece is hypoallergenic and holds together without screws, adhesives, or rivets.

n.o.w. titanium

n.o.w. stands out with a thin composite front in transparent, semi-transparent, or matte finishes, paired with lightweight titanium temples. The screwless hinges are fully adjustable, and the whole frame weighs about 2.3 grams. It's an expressive option for anyone who wants color and personality without added weight.

blok

blok is laser-cut from a single sheet of titanium and twisted into its final shape, no separate parts and no screws. The result is a sharp, sculptural frame with colored grooves you can customize. blok has won both the Red Dot Award and the iF Design Award for its design.

spirit

spirit is LINDBERG at its lightest: rimless titanium frames that weigh as little as 1.9 grams. Every pair is made to order, with your choice of frame shape, size, temple style, and one of 24 groove colors. Each one is hand-finished in Denmark, so no two are exactly alike.

precious

precious is LINDBERG's most exclusive line, made from 18K solid gold, platinum, or buffalo horn, with hand-set diamonds on some styles. Every frame is produced in limited quantity and finished by hand in Denmark. Despite the materials, the engineering keeps them surprisingly light to wear.
